It has drainage holes in the base & is raised by 3 little feet which allow for minimum contact with water that may have accumulated on your bench top. It is made from a speckled, beige clay. This item is made from ceramic stoneware & is fired to a temperature of 1200 degrees celsius (2192 Fahrenheit). It is glazed with lead-free & food safe glazes & is ideal for use in the oven & microwave but not over an open flame. It is dishwasher safe. If the item is out of stock, I can make another one, but the new item may vary slightly in size. That's the beauty of handmade objects.
